A Letter From a Leader at Local Partner #2
Dear Friends,
The program we are carrying out for orphaned and vulnerable children is being implemented successfully, and many families are benefiting from it. In our village, many children were in a very low condition in terms of education, nutrition and healthy lifestyles. As a result, the overall development of the community was affected.
We are an institution that is responsible for the development of the community, but we had previously been unable to achieve sufficient progress or make a comprehensive impact on the lives of the people around us. Families living in such difficult circumstances had to go through many struggles. There was a lack of awareness about the future of the community and the well-being of the next generation. One of the main reasons for this situation was the lack of knowledge among families and society about children’s needs, their future and the importance of family and social life. However, through this program, we have now used the opportunities given to us in a positive way. As a result, we have seen various positive impacts not only in the lives of the families participating in the program but also in the wider community.
Although the impact created by this program in the past six months may appear small, we firmly believe that it has brought about a significant change in the perspective of the community. This change itself is a great success for us. It also motivates us to continue and further develop this program. Through the awareness created during these six months, parents’ understanding of children, their needs, and the importance of loving and protecting them has improved. Pregnant mothers are also being given greater awareness about pregnancy and postnatal child care. Furthermore, family bonds and family well-being are becoming stronger.
This program encourages us to continue our work further. I am also very happy that, through this program, God has made it possible for our mission and benefits to reach our village and the surrounding villages as well.
Letter edited for clarity.
